Biographical details—Cameron Gifford
Cameron is our Chief Operating Officer and head of our Enabling Services Group.
The Enabling Services Group covers all corporate services for the department. This includes:
- strategy and governance
- finance and budget
- human resources
- business operations
- IT.
Cameron has extensive experience at the senior executive level across a number of policy and legal areas of the department.
Before his current role, Cameron led work relating to:
- family law policy and programs
- federal courts and tribunals
- policy and programs to counter family violence and elder abuse.
He has also worked in a variety of national security related roles within the department, the Attorney-General's office and portfolio intelligence agencies.
Cameron is our Disability Champion. He works to promote inclusive work practices within the department.
Cameron holds degrees in arts and law from the University of Tasmania and masters degrees in law and public administration from the Australian National University.
