Family dispute resolution certificate templates
Before you can file an application to the court for a parenting order, or apply to change an existing parenting order, you need to try family dispute resolution (FDR). There are some exceptions to this, such as if there is family violence or child abuse, or if the matter is urgent.
If the dispute cannot be resolved using FDR, you will need a section 60I or section 66H certificate from the FDR practitioner who helped you before going to court. This certificate needs to be filed with the court application.
Practitioners issuing a certificate relating to couples in Western Australia who are the parents of a child and were never married should use the Western Australian section 66H certificate.
Practitioners issuing a certificate in all other circumstances should use the section 60I certificate.
This information sheet contains information to help parties understand their certificate. Practitioners should consider providing the information sheet to parties when they issue a certificate.
