Consultation workshops on establishing an accreditation scheme for Children’s Contact Services
In response to submissions received on the Consultation paper Establishment of an Accreditation Scheme for Children's Contact Services, the department is hosting a series of virtual workshops with interested stakeholders, to further explore issues related to the development of an accreditation scheme. Registration is open to anyone with an interest in the project who would like to contribute to this important issue.
Each session will focus on a specific theme and will facilitate discussion between stakeholders to better understand the real life impacts of the identified options for accreditation. The 6 topics will be:
- The scope of the Children's Contact Services (CCS) accreditation scheme and responsibility for administration,
- Complaints mechanisms and penalties for operating without accreditation,
- Staff qualification requirements and ongoing professional development requirements,
- Other Human Resources related issues,
- Service standards and offerings, and
- Safety requirements including the physical environment and evidence requirements.
Virtual workshops will be held between 14 February and 25 March 2022. We encourage participants to attend as many sessions as they like. Morning sessions will run from 9am until 12pm and afternoon sessions from 1:30pm until 4:30pm.
