Support for children and young people (children) and strengthening their voices – Term of Reference 2, 2024

Publication date

In response to terms of reference endorsed by the Attorney-General, the Council considered the benefits of a family law system that actively supports the safety and wellbeing of children, and provides them with opportunities to be accurately heard in terms of achieving safe outcomes. The recommendations included in this report recognise that children and young people have rights, and should have agency in decisions which are made about them after their parents separate, and that children and young people cannot access these rights without adequate information being available to them. The Attorney-General received this report on 2 December 2024.
