The Australian National University was commissioned to evaluate the pilots of legally assisted and culturally appropriate family dispute resolution conducted in eight Family Relationship Centres across Australia.

The pilots were designed to assist separating or separated families from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, experiencing family violence, to resolve their family law matter without going to court. The pilots ran from 1 June 2017 to 30 June 2020.
