Access to Justice: A more accessible and equitable family law system – Term of Reference 3, 2024

In response to terms of reference endorsed by the Attorney-General, the Council considered options and avenues for making the family law system more accessible and equitable for separating families. Council's predominant view in these areas is that access to justice is imperative to resolve family law disputes and is a fundamental aspect of a fair and equitable legal system. This report makes recommendations for legislative reform, in particular, to alternative dispute options, greater utilisation of technology, and program reforms to the legal and allied services sector. The Attorney-General received this report on 25 November 2024.
