The department conducted an inquiry into the use of the term good faith in civil penalty and offence provisions in Commonwealth legislation. The inquiry released a consultation paper along with a call for submissions. The timeframe to provide submissions has now closed. The inquiry reported to the Attorney-General on 1 November 2021
