Enhancing protections relating to the use of Enduring Power of Attorney instruments - Consultation Regulation Impact Statement

The Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) investigates possible interventions which can streamline access to information about enduring powers of attorney (EPOA) and reduce the uncertainty regarding whether a document, as presented, can be relied upon as the basis for financial transactions.  It considers options which involve a range of market participants, including industry and the Australian government working with state and territory governments, to introduce additional safeguards into an existing regime administered under jurisdictional law.

The purpose of the Consultation RIS is to gather information on the options being considered to assist the Australian and state and territory governments in determining the appropriate government response
