Privacy (Australian Bushfires Disaster) Emergency Declaration (No. 1) 2020 

This emergency declaration was made under section 80J of the Privacy Act 1988. There are special provisions in the Privacy Act 1988 for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information in an emergency or disaster that affects Australians either in Australia or overseas. 

Commencement: This Declaration commences on the day that it is signed 20 January 2020
Expiry: This Declaration expires at the end of 12 months starting when the Declaration is signed.
