National security
Publication date

The Independent National Security Legislation Monitor (INSLM) independently reviews the operation, effectiveness and implications of national security and counter-terrorism laws; and considers whether the laws contain appropriate protections for individual rights, remain proportionate to terrorism or national security threats, and remain necessary.

Reviews, reports and activities undertaken by the INSLM can be found on the INSLM website

Government responses to reports of the INSLM are tabled in Parliament and are available to download.

Where no government response to a report has been provided, either the report did not contain recommendations requiring a response, or the recommendations have been considered or superseded through later legislation.
