Government response to Senate Committee report on the Combatting Corporate Crime Bill 2019
The Australian Government’s response to a Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee inquiry into the Combatting Corporate Crime Bill 2019 (CLACCC Bill). The CLACCC Bill proposes reforms to Australia’s foreign bribery laws. These include introducing a new corporate offence for failure to prevent foreign bribery and a deferred prosecution agreement scheme. The CLACCC Bill also proposes reforms to the Criminal Code definition of dishonesty.

The Australian Government’s response to a Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee inquiry into the 2017 version of the Combatting Corporate Crime Bill (CLACCC Bill). The CLACCC Bill proposed reforms to Australia’s foreign bribery laws. These included introducing a new corporate offence for failure to prevent foreign bribery and a deferred prosecution agreement scheme. The 2017 Bill lapsed at the federal election in May 2019 but was re-introduced in December 2019.
