Commitment 3.1 - Information management and access laws for the 21st century
The Attorney-General's Department has been consulting with users and civil society groups to better understand experiences and issues with accessing government information for Commitment 3.1 of Australia's First Open Government National Action Plan 2016-18. This includes information accessed under the Freedom of Information Act 1982, Archives Act 1983 and (where relevant) Privacy Act 1988.
We are using the agile and user centred design methodology under the Digital Service Standard to understand how existing information management and access frameworks operate - and the technology that supports those processes.
More information about the current status of Commitment 3.1 is available on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's Open Government Partnership website.
