Australia's Position

Australia has supported the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, since their inception in 2011.

Although the Australian Government is not proceeding with a national action plan  at this time, the Government is focusing on a number of key initiatives to action the Guiding Principles and further business and human rights in Australia; including progressing the new Australian Modern Slavery legislation.
