Government response to Parliamentary inquiries conducted on modern slavery and human trafficking

Three Parliamentary inquiries have been conducted on modern slavery and human trafficking:
- On 18 July 2017, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Law Enforcement (PJCLE) released its report, An inquiry into human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices with 20 recommendations for Government action.
- On 7 December 2017, the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade (JSCFADT) released its final report, Hidden in Plain Sight: An Inquiry into establishing a Modern Slavery Act in Australia with 49 recommendations for Government action. JSCFADT also released an interim report, Modern Slavery and global supply chains, in August 2017.
- On 3 December 2018, the JSCFADT released its report, Compassion, Not Commerce: An Inquiry into Human Organ Trafficking and Organ Transplant Tourism with 12 recommendations for Government action.
