Australia's Position

The Australian Government will continue to advocate at the international level for the prevention of crimes against humanity, as part of its advocacy on Responsibility to Protect (R2P). R2P articulates that states are responsible for protecting populations from the mass atrocity crimes of genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing.
