Caretaker conventions now in place

Ahead of the 2025 federal election the Australian Government has assumed a caretaker role.

We are operating in accordance with caretaker conventions.

In 2011, the department reviewed Subdivision A of Division 6 of Part VIIC of the Crimes Act 1914 (Cwlth).  In accordance with section 85ZZGG of the Crimes Act, a written report of the review has been prepared and tabled in both Houses of Parliament.
