Firearms Regulation in Australia

The Australian Government's approach to firearm regulation seeks to achieve a balance between allowing those with a genuine need to possess and use firearms and providing a safe and secure environment for the broader community.  In particular, the Australian Government is supportive of the legitimate use of firearms by genuine sporting shooters, such as aspiring Olympians, and has been mindful of the interests of the sports shooting community in its approach to firearms reforms.

Further information can be found on the Attorney-General's Department website regarding the Government's work on firearms policy.
